What we collect
We collect the information you provide in your application, including your contact information, school and academic records, activities and work experience, college plans, written responses, and letters of recommendation. If you are selected as a finalist or recipient, we may collect additional information, such as proof of college enrollment and, for recipients, grades and progress updates.
How we use it
We use your information only to:
- Review your application and determine eligibility
- Contact you and your parent or guardian about your application
- Administer scholarship awards and payments
- Support recipients and track their progress through college, as required by the foundation's founding guidelines
Who sees it
Your information is shared only with the people who run the scholarship program: the Selection Committee, the foundation's program administrators, and, when necessary, the foundation's legal and financial advisors. If you receive an award, we will share limited information with your college to verify your enrollment and process payments.
We will never sell your information or share it for marketing purposes.
Students under 18
Many applicants are under 18. By submitting an application, a student confirms that a parent or guardian is aware of and approves the application. We may contact a parent or guardian when needed.
Publicity
We will not publicly share your name, photo, or story without your permission, and a parent or guardian's permission if you are under 18.
How we protect it
We store application materials securely and limit access to the people listed above. We keep information only as long as needed to run the program and meet record-keeping requirements, and then securely delete it.
